Conferences Canada You ask: “What does a ski company know about Conferences?” We respond, “Quite a lot actually!” Over our 20-year history, SkiEurope and SkiCanada, the companies behind Conferences Canada, have acquired a solid core of corporate and association clients that we serve year after year. Some of these people travel just for fun, but more often there is a serious element of meeting or training. So we know how to handle business, as well as leisure. (Besides, every good meeting must have some recreational components.) Beyond that, many of our “normal” clients need out-of-the-ordinary arrangements that have organizational requirements that are similar to a corporate or association meeting. If you think about it, an on-mountain picnic can have as many logistic challenges as a medical seminar. Size does not matter much to us. Everyone likes to talk about their big groups and meetings, and so do we. We have hosted 1,400 people in Europe all traveling the same weekend, and we routinely care for groups of four or five hundred. But we are just as proud of our smaller groups that have traveled with us as many as fifteen times consecutively. Here are some examples: When over a thousand members of the National Brotherhood of Skiers visited Innsbruck Austria, we arranged air travel, transfers, lodging, and meals, as well as ski races, on-mountain events, and excursions. In addition, during the week there were over fifty meetings ranging from board committees to gala dinner dances, even a dedicated all-night disco. The University of Mississippi Alumni Association sponsors an annual European trip for important donors. Every year’s trip is different featuring unique events such as dinner with a renowned French chef, a visit to private art collection, or an exclusive performance by a famous diva. We assisted the International Police Winter Games to develop their presence in Europe and provided multi-language registration, travel, lodging, and event logistics. This included coordination between the international committee and local hosts for special events, such as a downtown cross-country race and media coverage. Northwest Anesthesia Associates is a smaller client that holds annual meetings and training seminars in European winter vacation destinations. We introduced the Texas Ski Council to Europe in 1986 when 1,400 members traveled to Bad Gastein Austria. Since then, we have been responsible for over a dozen trips with a more typical size of 300 participants. Every trip involves, in addition to all travel arrangements, coordination with local tourism officials, spectacular welcome events, excursions, and post event tours. Sportron International is a multilevel marketing group active in the United States and South Africa. We have arranged their incentive travel program and ancillary training events. We facilitated an unusual collaboration between the Medical Associations of American podiatrists and Austrian foot surgeons for an academic meeting and information exchange. This involved travel arrangements and local meeting logistics. For Alpenfest, we arrange the logistics to transport a complete orchestra that travels with the participants and entertains them every evening. Request information or a quote via the web:
